Too long....

Well, it's been awhile since I've updated this blog....more than a year!  Yikes!  A LOT has happened in that year and I don't think I'll ever catch up!  So I'm going to start with some recent things and just go from there.   One of the major things that has happened in the last year is that we've moved from Iowa to the great state of Oklahoma!  Jeremy was accepted into the oral surgery residency program here and so far we love it.  Iowa and Oklahoma were two states I didn't really think I would live.....ever.....but we love it here!  We've made good friends and Jeremy loves his program.

At the Science Museum

First of all, Evan is a very precocious 2 1/2 yr old.  He has changed so much in the last year!  I love this stage because he's interested in everything and I can actually have conversations with him.  He loves space, the planets (he knows them all--even that Pluto is now a dwarf planet), the stars and moon, he love playing with choo-choos (Thomas being his choo choo of choice) and cars, and LOVES playing basketball.  He's actually really good at it, too.  He loves going to the science museum here in Oklahoma and his favorite animal to see at the zoo is the rabbits.

He's starting to make friends and his best friend is this cute little boy down the street named Brayden who also goes to church with us.  They have the best time together! In his prayers every night Evan thanks Heavenly Father for Brayden; it's very cute.   His parents are some of our good friends too.  For Easter we went to their house for a BBQ and easter egg hunt.  It was Evan's first real experience with hunting for eggs and of course he loved it!  He would get an egg, open it up to see what was inside, then go get another one.  It was the cutest thing!

The other MAJOR thing that has happened to us in the last year is the news that we're not just expecting one more bundle of joy--we're expecting TWO!  The twins are due in the next couple of weeks now and mommy is a little freaked out, but very excited.  We're having a boy and a girl, which we thought was just perfect!  Our friends around here have been extremely helpful with the whole process of being pregnant with twins.  Since a multiple pregnancy is considered high risk, I got to have ultrasounds every 5 weeks, which was really fun to see the babies grow!

Hawaii

For my mom's birthday this year, all the family had the opportunity to go to Hawaii for spring break! It was beautiful and I could have stayed there another week, easily

Evan didn't know quite what to think of the sand. He felt like he couldn't move. It was actually very funny, but limited our beach time. The thing he liked most was to ride the elevators in the hotel.

So here we are at the PCC. Evan was most interested in running all over the place and he loved the canal. Here we are on a canoe ride and he just had to put his hand in the water. He loved the water!

But we still had a great time!

Jolly Old Saint Nick

So Evan saw Santa for the first time yesterday. He didn't quite know what to think of the guy...

Perhaps he was trying to figure out if that beard was really real....

Or if he really was as old as they say....

But it was still a fun night

First Hair Cut

So, Evan's hair was getting WAY too long. People kept saying to me, "Oh, your daughter is so cute!". I think to myself, "Really, if I had a daughter, would I dress her in dinosaurs???" But I of course being the non-confrontational person I am would say, "Thanks..." So I thought it was high time we got his hair cut. We went down to Kansas City for the weekend to visit family and we actually went to the same barber that gave Jeremy his first hair cut! I was interested to see how Evan would handle somebody cutting his hair, but as you can see...

He was totally content..........The secret?

blah blah blogging!

Guess who's bloggin'! Finally. I'm jumping on the band wagon. It usually takes me awhile to jump on, but when I do I love it. It was that way with Harry Potter and the twilight series. So, hopefully blogging ends up being as dog-eared and page worn as my Harry Potter books.

I must first blog about Evan's first birthday! He turned one on October 23rd of this year. I made him a car cake which I was very proud of. I'm not usually this domestic. This is a sign that I may start to quilt, or make pajamas or even..............cook dinner!

The windshield and rear window are air heads and the side windows are flattened star bursts. The wheels are reeses peanut butter cups and the head lights and tail lights are mentos with tootsie rolls for the bumbers. It was a lot of fun to make and even more fun for Evan to eat!

He got to open presents, although he didn't really know what presents were, so we kind of had to open them for him. But once they were open he had lots of fun! He got a ball, a pillow pet and an activity table, along with some badly needed clothes.

Grandpa and Grandma Goodson were there along with Aunt Heidi and Uncle Justin and all their kids! It was a lot of fun.

That same day was also the ward primary halloween activity. For the first time, Evan got to dress up for halloween! Last year he was kind of just laying there. So we dressed him up as a President of the United States and Jeremy and I were his secret service. It was fun! You can't really see Evan's outfit (which is a shame because it took me forever to assemble everything) but he has a lapel presidential sticker, and a blazer and tie on. His stroller is his motorcade.
